Diablo 4 is turning three, and Blizzard is marking the date with a short anniversary event aimed at anyone who fancies another run through Sanctuary. The big hook is simple: log in, claim free cosmetics, and make use of a boosted XP window while it lasts. It's also a handy moment to tidy up your stash, check your builds, and see whether any diablo 4 items you've been holding onto still fit the way you play this season.
The Diablo 4 Anniversary event starts at 6pm BST on June 2, 2026. That's when Mother's Blessing goes live, giving players a stronger XP gain across both Seasonal and Eternal realms. If you're in the UK, it's a nice early evening start, so you won't need to wait until some awkward late-night reset. The event is scheduled to run for one week and should end at 6pm BST on June 9, 2026. Blizzard could always stretch it by a day or two, as it has done with some events in the past, but there's no promise of that right now.
The XP boost is probably the part most players will care about first. Blizzard describes it as increased multiplicative XP, which means it should feel more meaningful than a tiny flat bonus slapped on top. If you've got an alt sitting half-finished, this is the sort of week where it makes sense to push it hard. You might also want to run dungeons, Helltides, boss rotations, or whatever activity gives your build the smoothest pace. Some players will use the event to test new gear setups, while others may compare drops, builds, and diablo 4 s13 items for sale while planning how to speed through the grind without wasting the bonus window.
Blizzard is also handing out free anniversary gifts through the in-game shop. These start appearing from 8pm BST on June 1, a little before the XP event itself begins. Day 1 brings Blood Raven's Talon, a one-handed sword cosmetic. Day 2 adds King Kanai's Last Stand, a shield cosmetic. Day 3 offers Nangari Wounder, a dagger cosmetic. Day 4 unlocks Overlord's Odium, a two-handed axe cosmetic. Day 5 rounds things out with Flamefinger's Claws, a glaive cosmetic.
The safest move is to log in early, grab each free reward, and not leave everything until the final evening. It sounds obvious, but plenty of players forget shop freebies when they're focused on levelling. If you're chasing XP, pick one or two characters and stick with them instead of bouncing around every hour. The event only lasts seven days, so a bit of planning helps. Clear some inventory space, sort your aspects, and decide what content you actually enjoy running. A boosted week goes by fast, and it's a lot less painful when you're not spending half of it at the blacksmith.
